Maumee Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation (MVUUC) is proud to hold our third annual Hogwarts Summer Camp, a daycamp inspired by J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter Books! At MVUUC Hogwarts young wizards (grades K through 8th grade) join a vibrant, fun, and magical community.  Young wizards participate in service activities for the community and congregation, a variety of magical classes, Quidditch matches and knowledge bowls to promote healthy competition, and learn more about themselves in a safe, welcoming environment.  Although this is a "religious summer camp," young wizards from all faith traditions are welcome and honored here!

The theme for year 5 is The Department of Mysteries. In the fifth book, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry and his friends travel to an obscure part of the Ministry of Magic called the “Department of Mysteries” in search of a prophecy.  After that battle, Dumbledore told Harry, “There is a room in the Department of Mysteries that is kept locked at all times. It contains a force that is at once more wonderful and more terrible than death, than human intelligence, than forces of nature. It is also, perhaps, the most mysterious of the many subjects for study that reside there.” The greatest mystery, according to Albus Dumbledore, is love – not necessarily romantic love, but loving kindness toward others.  This is the ultimate mystery, compassion and loving kindness.
